CaBuReRa has the ambition to become a pilot project for the development of new strategies addressing the issue of youth transition from education to work in the Mediterranean area. The project is coordinated by CESIE organization (Italy, Sicilia) - and is implemented in partnership with 6 civil society organizations from Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Portugal. Al Hayat Center is the Jordanian partner of this initiative and actively contributes to the design of the action as well as to activities implementation.
The main activities are; regional labor market analysis, publication of a project management handbook in English, Arabic and French, an online platform for employment networking, dissemination seminars targeting high schools and/or vocational education and training institutions, preparation courses and mentoring activities prior to program start, and evaluation of skills acquired by young people after the mobility period. The mobility period will provide 90 young people with the opportunity to in one of the 6 partnering countries for a period of 4 months during which they will acquire both professional skills and an intercultural experience.
Al Hayat Center and the partners sucessfully implemented the first phase in 2014, where 30 young people concluded the first mobility period in March. Currently the partners are finalizing the selection process of young people who made their interest in spending 4 months abroad in the second mobility period clear. In total, the project duration is 24 months. The project is funded by the European Union ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme, with a total grant of 244,016 EUR distributed amongst the 6 partners.
